Bush loosing influence - Mexico: the new Putin's energy partner

MOSCOW, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russia intends to deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Sakhalin via Mexico, President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Mexican President Vicente Fox.

"We are working on a number of serious economic and energy projects. LNG from Sakhalin will be delivered to the Mexican coast and partially used in your country," Putin said.

"There are other projects, particularly, in engineering," Putin said, adding that Fox's visit will promote cooperation development.

Fox said that his visit here marks the first by a Mexican president after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

"Our economic growth rates are high. Our economies are large-scale, which contributes to the dynamics of our relations," Fox said.

"I am interested in discussing energy issues and other global problems," he said.
